Code of Conduct

LaBrae Elementary PTO

Code of Conduct

Distinct responsibilities come with being a volunteer to a non-profit organization. We have a special responsibility to serve the children of our district to the absolute best of our abilities while demonstrating strong character values. The success of our program relies on the members conducting themselves in a manner that will uphold the good reputation of our organization. By becoming a participant of the LaBrae Elementary Boosters, both parent volunteers and Executive Board Members will, in good faith, uphold the following Code of Conduct to the best of their abilities at all times.

PTO Members will treat all LaBrae Local Schools staff, fellow members, and vendors with dignity and respect. You are a reflection of both the organization and the schools you serve

PTO Members shall not take advantage of their relationships with staff or students to further an agenda or for any other personal gain

PTO Members will at all times keep our students well-being in mind

PTO Members will do their best to uphold the ideals of the organization, as outlined in the mission statement

PTO Members are not to show preferential treatment for any reason whatsoever

PTO Members will support the majority decisions made by the organization/Executive Board

PTO Members will recommend and promote transactions that are in the best interest of the organization

PTO Members will declare any conflicts of interest (real or apparent) between personal/professional life and their role in the PTO and abstain from voting or participating whenever appropriate

PTO Members will honor the confidentiality and privacy of all members of our community, including parents, students, faculty, administrators, and the general public

PTO Members will conform all actions to the requirement of law and ethical principles

The above Code of Conduct shall apply to all interactions including in-person interactions as well as online discussion spaces, blogs, forum pages, social media sites, and other wired and wireless communication methods.

Violations of the Code of Conduct will be reviewed by the Board and result in actions deemed appropriate by the Board.
